Thanksgiving Day has passed and a huge crowd of shoppers have been in eager anticipation to go to the malls to get the best deals at a fraction of a price buying toys, gadgets, dvd's, books and much more, in the preparation for Christmas gift-giving.

What is the fuss all about? Why, Black Friday, the day immediately following Thanksgiving Day in the US! Traditionally, the day after Thanksgiving used to mean one thing for retailers: it was the first day in the lengthy retailing calendar where a store could make enough money [move merchandise] to see yearly losses [for bookkeeping purposes represented by the color red] turn into gains [represented by the color black]. It is presumed that all sales completed the whole year were done at a loss until that one big day, Black Friday, whereby enough merchandise is sold to reverse course and to begin to turn a profit for the year.

These days, since the yearly Black Friday shopping sprees that considerably tire the buyers, people don’t rely on just one day, even though the news reports still declare that the day after Thanksgiving is so important to them. In reality, retailers have long since spread their reliance on Black Friday further out; now it is an entire week beginning what they call Cyber Monday that gives the retailers time to assess their decisions to buy.

1. As you can see , I've resurrected back from being offline and am now excited again in blogging! Oh, I sure hope this motivation and this zest will keep on, not just seasonal.

2. It sure is Thanksgiving and Christmas again so soon! And my youngest 5-year-old Cupcake will have his birthday this week. I wish it will come through simple but splendid.

3. I love to buy for once, I would love to buy a Kindle Fire or Kindle Touch 3G for myself - and family. To add, I also would love to buy the pupils on our children ministry some Angry Birds thingamajigs - it's the latest fad

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to resting, catching up on need sleep, yet I know again I would work work, tomorrow my plans include going around the town proper and our street to solicit donations for my child's pre-school classroom and Sunday, I want to go to church, a visitor from our main satellite is going to preach then!

I hold very dear childhood memories of Legos during my formative years in Germany. This was during the early 70's and where Legos were still in their "prehistoric" stage :) just the basic models of houses and buildings in a miniature village. When we moved to the Philippines and I lost most of my Lego pieces (leaving me only with 10), I sadly thought I wouldn't get hold of Legos anymore as replacement for the Lego pieces I missed. Good thing, they were also being sold during the late 80's at Manila's Gift Gate, yet by then I've outgrown my necessity for them. My love for Lego's were again rekindled when my young boys were preschoolers and I thought of buying them some!

Now for some Lego trivia...

Did you know, since the 1950’s Lego’s have been loved by builders of all ages. The founder, carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen started making wooden toys in 1932. He named his company LEGO by combining the Danish words "Leg Got" meaning "play well." He later realized the word LEGO translates into "I put together" in Latin. The name was kismet, foretelling what would be a runaway success.

The plastic interlocking bricks were first produced in 1949. The pieces, still famous today were sold in loose sets of bricks. The toys were released in the United States in the 1960’s, captivating its young audience. LEGOS let kids unleash their imagination by easily building, taking their creations apart and starting the fun all over again.

LEGO then made a revolutionary addition to their popular kits by adding thewheel. Not only did kids build cities, but now they could construct and play with cars, trucks and later trains. Even preschoolers, more concerned with knocking down than building got into the action with the DUPLO product line- especially designed for smaller hands. From vehicles to cities ships and planes LEGO sets became the standard for creative play.
